Shape the next generation of nurses

Arizona faces a projected shortage of 30,000 registered nurses, and nearly 3 million state residents lack access to primary care. The College of Nursing is filling a critical gap in the workforce by preparing students with the knowledge, clinical training, and responsiveness to serve rural, Tribal, and underserved communities in Arizona and beyond.

Whether you chose to support scholarships, clinical placements, a new facility, your investment will help shape the next generation of nurse leaders, educators, and practitioners.

Student Emergency Fund

Fundraising goal: $100,000

Many NAU students are balancing more than just coursework: They are veterans, parents, full-time employees, and first-generation college-goers. When unexpected financial hardships arise, these students often face the difficult choice between staying in school or stepping away. This immediate-use fund helps students overcome short-term challenges—like housing insecurity or medical bills—that can threaten their well-being and derail their academic progress. Your support helps ensure that temporary setbacks don’t become barriers to graduation.

Scholarships

Fundraising goal: $50,000

Every student deserves access to an excellent education—but for many, cost remains the greatest barrier. At NAU, 97 percent of students receive financial aid, ensuring that cost never stands in the way of ambition. A gift of $50,000 supports one student for an academic year; $500,000 supports ten. Your generosity opens doors and gives students the freedom to focus on learning.

Dean’s Innovation

Fundraising goal: $1.5 Million

This flexible fund allows the dean to meet emerging needs and pursue opportunities that advance the college’s mission. Your support will help expand the Global BSN program, enhance student success efforts such as peer mentoring and workshops, grow our graduate offerings, or pilot new outreach to K–12 students to build future nursing pipelines.

Student Travel Support

Fundraising goal: $600,000

Clinical placements are essential to nursing education, giving students hands-on experience in hospitals, clinics, and community health agencies. At NAU, many clinical experiences take place in rural and Tribal communities where students learn to provide compassionate, responsive care and serve where they’re needed most. These placements require travel, and costs like gas, lodging, and meals can add up. Your support ensures students can pursue these transformative experiences without financial strain.

Endowed Faculty

Fundraising goal: $500,000

Exceptional students need exceptional faculty. Your investment in endowed positions helps the College of Nursing recruit and retain accomplished teacher-scholars who inspire students, build meaningful community partnerships, and generate impactful research.
